In manufacturing, workpiece quality is often defined in terms of meeting part size and surface quality requirements. An additional measure of quality (ie on-time delivery performance) can be termed process quality. The manufacturer must control the processes to determine that the planned production time is sufficient to complete the job and deliver it to the customer at the promised time.
